What is Coaching?
Coaching is a powerful way to get the results you want, whether professionally or personally. If you want personal attention in certain areas of your life and you want someone to professionally walk with you, then coaching is for you. I will help you achieve better success in your professional and personal life. Together, we can help you reach your goals, solve problems, design and implement a new blueprint for your life. This process is done through powerful suggestions, exercises, collage work, visualization, brainstorming and some homework. Coaches are a great sounding boards and they mirror back what you say. This will enable you to be clearer and better able to stay focused.
Why Do people come to coaching?
People come to coaching for lots of different reasons. You are looking for change in your life or you have a specific goal you want to achieve. You may be motivated to write a book, to start a business, to have a healthier body. You may come to me as a coach because you want to create more order and balance in your life. You may want more out of life. More joy, more peace of mind, more simplicity, more financial reward, more peace with your relationship with God. You may want less of some things. You may want less confusion, less stress, less pressure, less “noise” in your head.
What you really desire is a better quality of your life: more fulfillment, better balanced, more focused and clear. The coaching process is all about YOU. You bring your concerns, your dreams, your confusion, your aspirations and your longings to me, the coach. I will then help you sort through your thoughts and help you process what it is you desire for your life. The coaching relationship keeps building and becoming stronger.
Who gets coaching?
There is no limit as to who gets coaching. Professional get coaching to better their businesses, helping them to stay on track with their business dreams. Mothers get coaching to help them create time for themselves, or to help them stay true to themselves as they sometimes lose themselves in motherhood.
Wives get coaching to help them remember who they are as a woman first, and to be the best they can be in a relationship. You may want coaching to help you sort through your life long dreams, or your life long struggles and you need someone to help you do that. Coaching is for anyone that wants to improve their life.
How is Coaching Different from Therapy?
You don’t have to have a “problem” to benefit from Coaching. Coaching is not designed to “fix something”. Coaching is designed to stimulate, explore and help you move forward in your life. Coaches do not diagnose or work on “issues’ from your past. Coaching should not replace therapy for those that need to do healing work that can only be accomplished through in-depth counseling. Coaching may touch on your old behaviors, or the “old voices” you hear; but only as a way to remove them as obstacles that may prevent you from reaching your goals. Coaching is the fuel that can help motivate you to examine your heart’s desires. Coaching allows you to explore your values, your motives, and your dreams with a professional. The relationship is not about the coach giving advice and giving you answers. I as your coach will help you come up with your own answers and help you claim them with your own power.
What happens when you hire a coach?
You will take yourself more seriously. You will become empowered as you begin to claim your life. You will set better goals for yourself. You will be excited to talk each week to your coach so you can share your progress and be challenged to stay on course. You will become better focused as it becomes clear what you are striving towards. You will feel excited and inspired to work toward your goals. You will like knowing you have an accountability person that will make sure you are on track. This excitement will create a sense of well-being. You will have a better vision for your life and the possibilities that are out there for you.
How does Coaching work?
Most of coaching is done over the phone. Most people find that odd at first but grow to love it. The phone allows me to focus very directly on you and the words you are saying. You will love the fact that you don’t have to drive anywhere, get dressed, and waste time in the car. The conversations on the phone are very direct, very intentional and very intense. The conversation is much more direct when you have to rely more on listening than visual. I am trained to hear your words, “listen” to your body language through your gestures and your tone, and to be able to know what is going on in your surroundings. It’s really a deeper level of listening. I coach people all around the country. Most I don’t even know what they look like. I’m not distracted by what you’re wearing, your physical demeanor or the other “chatter” in the room. When you’re on the phone, it’s all about YOU.
All coaching begins with a Self-Discovery Session. This allows me to identify what your challenges are, and what your purpose, vision and desire is to the coaching. This is a 2 hour session. You will receive paper work to fill out before hand.
I do offer a complimentary consultation if you are interested.
Sessions are 45 minutes. Depending on your budget and your needs they may be 30 or 60 minutes.
How long do people get coaching?
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. For some people they quickly move through the area they are working on. For others they can’t imagine not having a coach in their life at all time. I generally require a minimal 3 month commitment. 3 months is a good length of time to develop the coaching
Relationship. It usually takes that long to establish your goals and begin to work on them.
