TESTIMONIAL:
When I met Carolyn five months ago, I was suffering from depression. When I started coaching with Carolyn I would never have dreamed that in just a  few months I would be on the path to freedom and self-discovery.  I actually quit my job, opened my own photography studio and enrolled in college full-time pursuing my dream.  Carolyn’s coaching has helped me take my “someday dreams and move them to the present.  I am finding myself again.

PASTOR’S WIVE’S COACHING

A successful woman preacher was once asked “what special obstacles have you met as a woman in the ministry?” “Not one” she answered “except the lack of a minister’s wife” –Ann Garlin Spence

Coaching Assessment for Pastor’s Wives
If you identify with any of these statements, life coaching may be a perfect tool for you.

  • I love my husband and the church, yet I feel like I don’t know who I AM anymore
  • I don’t like being called “the pastor’s wife”; I am MY own person
  • I want my own career and I feel stuck.
  • There’s no one safe to talk to in the church; I feel so alone
  • I love my work in the church, but I can’t seem to find the right balance between my family, church, and MYSELF
  • I want to explore what MY options are
  • I have trouble setting good boundaries between myself and the congregation
  • I’m tired of living up to everyone else’s expectations

Being the spouse of a leader is a difficult task in any occupation and being the spouse of a minister is almost an insane endeavor. The pay is often below your needs, the hours are crazy, the expectations are impossible and you’re supposed to feel good about it because you are doing God’s work.

The stereotyping of a pastor’s wife can leave you feeling lonely, overwhelmed and joyless.

Carolyn knows intimately the joys and sorrows of being a “pastor’s wife” as she was married to a pastor for over 20 years.  “I fought on my own to blaze the trail for a different kind of role and it felt endlessly impossible to break the image that was already set before me”.

Coaching with Carolyn will allow you to explore your own feelings, yearnings, and questions.  She will provide a safe place for you to share your thoughts.   You will be given permission to feel whatever you are feeling.  You will then be given permission to not feel guilty about how you are feeling.  The release of honesty is your first step toward empowerment.

Carolyn will encourage you, challenge you, and ask you to take charge of your life. The coaching process will allow you to be more secure in who you are and give you a better sense of what your gifts and talents are.  You will emerge a stronger woman who will be able to enjoy herself and her spouse better.  Living the life of a “pastor’s wife” will be more fulfilling when you let go of the image of what “they” want you to be  and you begin to breathe in YOU and God alone.

Message from Carolyn:
“My desire is that you will walk in the confidence and knowledge of who you are.  That you will walk with more joy, more passion, and freedom.  I am a woman who has been where you are, and my heart is with you.  Your life can be different and you can enjoy your role in a better way.  I believe God has an amazing plan for your life.  It’s o.k. to feel whatever you are feeling.  It’s not o.k. to live miserably and lonely inside. I would be honored to be walk alongside you as you begin to discover your own personhood and stand as the woman God made you to be.”
